#78 – Love your n00b!

Our second episode of 2008 offers fewer mod updates and more actual news items, hmm, interesting. What’s Mirror’s Edge? New Bad Company screenshots? What’s the Sergeant Major of the Corps rank and how can you join some organized Forgotten Hope 2 action.

We answer those questions and discuss “n00bs” a little bit. The best ways to avoid being labeled a n00b, are some people just mean, and we conclude that we really should all just love our n00bs. Enjoy the show!

    Great Podcast,I loved the desktop battlefield, I like your mod section, but not many play the mods, out of the many thousands of player out there, which is a shame, how about getting some of the guys who create the mods on your show?

    I'm a noob but I don't get called noob very often. I guess it depends who you play with.

    That's a great tip. In fact, Battlerecorder as a training tool is way underrated. I think it has to do with the fact that there have been a lot of unfortunate problems with Battlerecorder in the past.

    One comment on how to get from noob to experienced player. The way I did it was by playing rounds on server with Battlerecorder. After a long battle I watched my actions and leared from my stupid misteaks. It helps to analize your misteaks and helps you surive longer.

    It's free and they are very proffesional and have been played this tournament for several years with fh1 ..

    My current rank is a Staff Sergeant and I have been playing BF2 and Modern Combat since they both released. I just took a break from PC for almost a year, then came back and decided i wanted a new account to see if my progress was a differant rate than when i started. Also now I dont play nearly enough to have the rank I "should" have. I'am usually up there on the list, I can remember alota times I higher in score than many people with higher ranks.

    Good show guys! While talking about the noobs, the tune kept going through my head from Crosby, Stills, Nash... "Love The One You're With"... Except I changed it to "Love The Noob You're With"!!! Weird huh! Yea I thought so too!

    By the Way Ole, I noticed the ending credit showed "Visiit us at", but doesn't show the web address. Opps!

    Loved the bit about noobs. But imo, rank means nothing, i have some friends that, are 3 starts, and just have a new account. Or we just mess about to piss people of, by acting like noobs/bigginers. But some people are realy think. like so:
    two days ago, i saw someone constantly ramming our titan shield;
    i wonder if he knew that you CAN NOT PENETRATE THE TITAN SHIELD with any bullets or rockets.....


    also i saw someone standing near a silo, when i asked what he was doing, he said he was trrying to find out how to guide the ATM-missile.

    I Wish people would read the manual. Also when i was learning chopper, i just went onto servers that havent started and messed around with my mates, untill i could, fly well, then i practiced my seat switching on single, Now i get banned from servers for aim bot, with my tv :S

    Also if i have a noob in my chopper, i just red line them, also i always tell noobs not to fly if they can't, cos sometimes you can just tell, if some can fly or not. Also beginers, just ignor the morons like me :D

    I Remember when i start, i played on my mates pc on his account, and i tked about 5 of my team, thinking they were enemys :D

    That major of the corps, dosen't get used any more, it does get used in POE2 tho.
