#80 – Battlefield Heroes

Welcome to the mother of all episodes! Clocking in at over an hour and a half, we tear into the newly announced next iteration in the Battlefield franchise, Battlefield Heroes. There’s lots to discuss with still few facts known, lots of speculation, not to mention a whole new business model: free game supported by ads and micro-transactions.

There’s so much to talk about Battlefield Heroes that there’s hardly enough time to discuss some viewer questions such as whether ESRB game ratings are actually being followed at sale and why we need them. To round off the show we watch Frost Episode 3, a 30+ minutes monster of hilarity.

  • Ouch! Sorry for the mispelling on my last comments, i will try a way to edit my words and fix my bad english. Anyway, the great think of listening to you guys and download all the episodes is that i love battlefield gaming universe. Every single week i have to travel to a remote town to work and i keep listening to the news & announces you guys bring to us since i have no internet connection nor computer to play at free time, only my iPod as company.

    BF Heroes has 30 people working on it, what a load of pish, those 30 people could have pushed out another booster pack for 2142 then profited from it and made me very happy. I can't stand TF2, probably why I'm so sore.

    I havent listened yet but when i saw about this other day my thoughts were this.

    Its EA's cover up to keep us distracted from BF3 like its almost like ya we arent making it no comment here eat this freebee to buy us time.

    But on bright side i thought maybe this could also be to keep us busy with console Bf:BC and PC freebee Heroes so they can make BF3 and make it more a surprise.

    A third thought was maybe they are testing a new idea so they can maybe have a respnse to Team Fortress.

    Just my thoughts.
