Nantucket, MA April 1, 2010 — TuxMedia is pleased to announce a shift in direction for its largest podcast property, the Battlefield Podcast. Working in conjunction with Infinity Ward, Battlefield Podcast will begin bashing DICE’s Battlefield series on its audio and video podcast starting in its next episode.

Since 2006 the Battlefield Podcast has been promoting and garnering a community around Swedish Developer DICE’s famed Battlefield franchise. In recent months however, enthusiasm and support have dropped, which prompted this new partnership with Infinity Ward. The developers of the popular online shooter Modern Warfare and Modern Warfare 2 saw an opportunity to give themselves an advantage in its rivalry with DICE’s Battlefield.

Jan Ole Peek, owner of TuxMedia, made the following statement on Thursday morning: “We’ve been working with DICE for a long time but have never truly felt supported or recognized for our efforts. This new direction will change that and bring more happiness to me personally.” Co-host Heekwon, aka Chalk.Two, only had the following comment: “I just can’t wait to get up in dis shit!”

Representatives for Infinity Ward were unwilling to comment but did not deny the new partnership. Media requests to get a statement from DICE were unsuccessful as most of the DICE team was currently rebooting servers.

The first episode following the new format is to be expected “in about the same amount of time as the last one took to release”, say Jan Ole Peek.
